Mass melodies of freedom

Saturday's highly publicised inaugural Festival of Religious Freedom closed with a high-energy concert. The performers, a mass choir of 150 voices and select vocalists, were at times spirited and at others meditative, with songs that had the congregation in spiritual jubilation both inside and outside the National Arena.

Excellent performances at first Blues in Negril

Rhythm and Blues took centrestage in Negril, Westmoreland, over the weekend with hundreds of persons converging at the Sea Star Inn in the town's West End for three nights dubbed Blues in Negril.

Foul fifth

It was definitely not the expected finish, and yesterday morning, it was clear that Jamaicans were not the only ones left disappointed at Kaci Fennell's fourth runner-up placement at the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held in Doral, Florida, on Sunday night.
