THE EDITOR, Sir:

It saddens my heart to read about one of my favourite artistes, Delroy Wilson, being overlooked by the Jamaican Government.

Ian Boyne said it all in his In Focus article 'Honour Delroy Wilson for Jamaica 50' (Sunday Gleaner, July 8, 2012). When any honours list is put together in Jamaica for the music industry, Delroy Wilson should be the first name mentioned.

I had the privilege to work with Delroy. He was not only a great artiste, he was one of the nicest persons you could have ever met. If you were around him, he'd make you laugh all day.

We in the music industry have the highest respect for Delroy. Donkey say worl' nuh level.
