Love at first sight

Eric Veron and St Theresa Allen met each other on a calm, cool, starry night at the Half-Way Tree Seventh-day Adventist Church at a Sunday-night service. They will not tell you that it was love at first sight. instead it was attraction at first sight for Allen. Nevertheless, they both started out as friends.

Their friendship, however, blossomed into a deep romantic love to which none other can compare. Today they are inseparable, primarily because they totally enjoy each other's company.

Vernon describes his wife as a quiet, straightforward, no-nonsense young lady, who is easy to reason with and down-to-earth. She is a very loving individual and has the capacity to continue to bring tears to his eyes because she has shown him love that no one else has. He describes her as the heart of love, explaining that one would have to take time out to know her to understand it. Vernon said he has waited patiently in taking the time to know her and he has concluded Allen undoubtedly epitomises love. And she got his mother's stamp of approval too!

For her part, Allen loves Vernon unconditionally and sincerely. She describes Vernon as humorous, kind, God-fearing, confident, trustworthy who words are inadequate to describe. She regards her husband as a rare jewel who is always willing to help and does not draw a hard line on who should do household duties. Allen notes that Vernon shares everything with her. She loves him for who he is and cannot see herself ever stopping.

Proposals:

1. A few months before the formal proposal, Vernon sent Allen a bbm picture with a couple in wedding attire and wrote below it: 'you and me'. Of course, Allen shrugged off this idea and just simply saw Vernon as being comedic, as he always tends to be.

Nevertheless, he said not another word on the matter, but Allen realised the extent of his seriousness on Fashion's Night Out 2011.

2. While shopping Vernon took Allen to a jewellery store where he asked her to marry him. She said yes, and he chose a beautiful ring.

However, when Allen thought Vernon was finished, he made a formal proposal!

3. On her birthday, October 22, Vernon formally asked for her hand in marriage.

They exchanged wedding vows in a ceremony officiated by Silvera Castro, justice of the peace and civil registrar, and in the presence of approximately 50 guests at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites' Garden Terrace on December 4, 2011.
